This is Every State.
Well, almost.
Actually, it's just Texas. The place I currently call home. And even though I find myself in The Lone Star, I have friends from all over: New York, California, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Colorado, Florida, and a few that even hail from the mystical land of New Jersey.
But that's kind of beside the point. And if there is a point to this site, here it is:
I have this (other) blog and a few months ago, I started using tracking code that shows where in the world people are when they view my site. Pretty stalker-esque, huh?
I've had a few hits from Australia, Germany, the UK, and even Greece. They probably happened upon my blog by some stroke of misfortune, never to return again.
Most of my hits come from the good ol' U.S. and A. A lot of them are friends and family from those states I mentioned above. But some are just strangers. And for some reason, they keep coming back.
I always get this strange rush every time I log onto Google Analytics and find that some new stranger, from some new state has checked out my site. I'm not sure what it is, but it's just exciting to watch the little white states fill up with green. It's like I'm completing some sort of digital, web-age puzzle.
So we arrive at the point of Every State. Simply put, the goal is to get at least one hit from every state within a period of one month (one month is the longest date range you can view statistics in Google Analytics).
Every day, I'll post a screen-shot from the hit-map for this blog. If all goes as planned, new states will begin popping up.
So Texas is checked off. What state are you from?
